Zusammenfassung
Die patellare Instabilität ist definitionsgemäß eine Disartikulation der Patella außerhalb der femoropatellaren Verbindung bei Sub­luxation oder Luxation. Dazu führen verschiedene Faktoren wie akutes Trauma, chronische Bandlaxation, knöcherne oder Binde­gewebsveränderungen und anatomische Bedingungen. Die Dia­gnose kann durch die Messung des Insall-Savati-Index erfolgen. Es ist wichtig, zwischen einer ­echten und einer Pseudopatella baja zu differenzieren. Vor Behandlung muss die Ätiologie bestimmt werden.

Abstract
Patellar instability, by definition, is a condition where the patella bone pathologically disarticulates out from the patellofemoral joint, either subluxation or complete dislocation. This most often involves multiple factors, from acute trauma, chronic ligamentous laxity, bony malalignment, connective tissue disorder, or anatomical pathology. Diagnosis can be confirmed by measurements of patellar height including Insall-Salvati ratios. It is important to ­differentiate between true patella baja and pseudopatella baja by patellar height ratio. Treatment includes correct identification of the underlying etiology and appropriate management.
