Clinical reasoning refers to all of the thinking and decision-making processes used by the therapist in the evaluation and management of a patient.

Question: How common is clinical reasoning among radiographers and how does it affect their acting and thinking?

Method: The survey was conducted by an online questionnaire. Participants were asked to answer questions in a self-assessment form.

Result: About 5 per cent of radiographers are familiar with clinical reasoning. A small effect was measurable, but it was more pronounced in the group of radiotherapists.

Conclusion: Clinical reasoning could be a way to improve the quality of care by radiographers. Their acting will be more focused on the patients’ needs.
